Bermuda law firm Appleby, Spurling and Kempe (AS&K) have produced what its being touted as the first-ever guide to e-commerce in Bermuda. Available on CD-Rom and on the firm's website, the guide is "a really serious compendium of material", says lawyer Warren Cabral. The firm is promoting the guide as a substantial body of material to assist corporate clients and consumers in setting up and transacting with Web businesses.
Mr Cabral, a partner at AS&K who is head of the intellectual property and information technology department, said: 'Its the first guide of its kind ever. Certainly the first in Bermuda. It covers everything. Its role is not to just inform people but to give them the links to execute their intentions.' AS&K also has a strong presence in Bermuda as a provider of e-business consultancy services.
The CD-Rom was launched at last week' e-commerce conference in Bermuda. The 400-page compendium contains 16 sections on topics such as online payment settlement, privacy, digital signatures and online contracting. Futher details can be found on AS&K's website at http://www.ask.bm.
