Bermuda-based professional and technical services firm Independent Consulting Solutions last week announced the launch of an Application Service Provider (ASP) facility which is designed to help small and medium-sized businesses cut down their IT expenditure.
The new product, named 'eVolution', offers clients direct access via an internet link to a suite of Microsoft application such as MS Office, Outlook and Exchange, in addition to other widely-used business tooks including Sun Accounts, Quick Books, Lotus Notes, Great Plains Accounting and SQL Server applications.
The firm also provides Disaster Recovery Planning, anti-spam and anti-virus facilities, in what amounts to a one stop shop for a small business’s computing needs wherever in the world they are located.
Commenting on the innovation, Robert Salmon, President and CEO of ICS explained that: "The never ending cycle of buying new PCs, servers and software licenses is a costly and often prohibitive exercise for many small to medium-sized companies who need to release resources and funds to concentrate on core growth.”
Significantly, ICS is only one of fifteen firms globally to have received approval from Microsoft to license its products via the ASP model. “This became a huge competitive advantage for us as we had early access to license models and technical resources from Microsoft which helped us enormously," observed Mr Salmon.
