The Belize Trade and Investment Development Service (BELTRAIDE) will soon be utilizing a new database system in order to more effectively administer the Government of Belize’s Fiscal Incentives Programs.
The database will allow for the enhanced and effective administration and monitoring of both regular and SME development concession holders under the Fiscal Incentives Program and Export Processing Zones.
In addition to monitoring, the FIIS program will be able to generate accurate and timely reports, allow for real-time information processing and make readily available accurate information on the status of all EPZs and development concession holders.
These functions will greatly assist the Investment and Business Facilitation Department of BELTRAIDE.
The Fiscal Incentives Information System (FIIS) is scheduled to be installed and functional by January of 2006. In the meantime, the data entry phase is currently being carried out. In-house staff training is being conducted by Mr. Paul Jones, consultant at Spire Services Limited, the developers of the FIIS database system.
It is claimed that the comprehensive database system will ensure the effective and efficient administration and monitoring of GOB’s Fiscal Incentives programme.
