Prime Minister of Belize, Dean Barrow, left the country over the weekend to attend a number of important international appointments in Miami.
On Sunday the Prime Minister was scheduled to meet with World Bank officials, and Monday and Tuesday were set to see him in attendance at the Inter-American Development Bank’s (IDB) Annual Meeting as a Governor.
During his stay in Miami, the Prime Minister is also scheduled to meet with officials of the OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID).
In all meetings, the Prime Minister hopes to discuss possible financial assistance for Belize. Prime Minister Barrow and his team return to Belize on Wednesday April 9th, 2008.
During the Prime Minister’s absence, Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Gaspar Vega is acting Prime Minister.
