It allows clients to carry out functions including making payments for insurance premiums on-line, getting quotations for insurance, and obtaining claim forms. The site has a SSL certificate verified by the Thawte certification. This allows clients to make payment on the web ensuring that information proffered is encrypted. The company stated: 'Field Insurance is proud to be a pioneer in this area of technology to benefit our clients by providing more convenience and The New Direction for Insurance'.
Managing director Sean Field commented: 'Businesses need to have an Internet presence, and being online is the way to be, as websites tend to validate a business. We wanted to build a value-added relationship between Field Insurance and our existing clientele by providing a web site that allows them to do business at their convenience'.
Internet users have already logged onto the new site, both locally in Barbados and from further afield in Canada, Columbia, the US and China.
