The BVI Island Sun reported last week that three lawyers in the British Virgin Islands have been given silk, bringing the jurisdiction's total number of QCs to seven.
According to the local newspaper, the honour 'which is conferred upon experienced lawyers in recognition of their commitment to the guiding principles of the legal profession and contributions to their communities' was afforded to Sydney A Bennet, Lewis S. Hunte (a former BVI Attorney General), and Paul Webster.
The Island Sun also revealed that the BVI now has one of the highest number of QCs in the Eastern Caribbean region.
