A discussion forum aimed at enhancing the business links between the British Virgin Islands and the UK was established by Chief Minister Dr Orlando Smith during his recent visit to London, it has been reported.
The group, known as the ‘BVI London Circle,’ will discuss new business opportunities and economic trends in the territory, and will also advise the BVI London Office, a Caribbean Net News report explained.
The first meeting of the Circle recently took place in London and featured prominent lawyers, finance professionals and accountants with interests in the BVI. According to Dr Smith, this meeting was “very productive.”
“There was a high level of agreement among us and I was encouraged by the potential benefits of such a partnership for the continued growth and sustainability of the industry,” Dr Smith commented.
The Chief Minister hopes the forum can meet on a quarterly basis.
