The Bermuda Stock Exchange this week approved the listing of 775,000 series 1 Participating Preference Shares in the Octane Diversified Limited fund.
The fund is incorporated in the British Virgin Islands (BVI) and is treated as a Professional Fund under the Mutual Funds Act 1986. It seeks to achieve capital growth by investing in a diverse basket of financial instruments including commodities, foreign exchange, equity and debt markets globally.
Established as a fund of funds structure, assets will be invested in Octane Gamma Limited, Octane Secure Limited, Octane Invest Fund Limited and Octane Value Limited.
Continental Sponsors Limited is sponsoring the fund's listing, which is taking place under the Listing Regulations for Collective Investment Schemes and the Restricted Marketing Rules.
Octane Management Limited is wholly owned by Sanlam Financial Services BV which in turn is 84% owned by Sanlam Ltd. Sanlam was established as a life insurance company in South Africa in 1918, and is a major provider of life insurance, retirement annuities, savings products, unit trust and trust services. Sanlam, via its asset management arm, Sanlam Investment Management (SIM), manages 200 billion Rand or approximately US$20 billion of group assets and for external clients.
