The Bermuda International Business Association (BIBA) will today make a presentation to almost 200 British and European Union business leaders on the merits of Bermuda’s financial services and administration sector.

According to Deborah Middleton, CEO of BIBA, the event, which is being held in London, will run along similar lines to a briefing held in New York earlier in the year.

“This event will mirror the one we held in April in New York which was so well received by the US financial sector and which resulted in immediate business for Bermuda,” stated Middleton.

“We can only hope to have the same measure of success in London,” she added.

Meanwhile, BIBA’s marketing manager Aaron Adderley added that the focus of the marketing drive will be in particular on hedge funds, securitisation and trust expertise.

“The arrival of well-known names such as HSBC, Citigroup and JPMorgan Chase has served to put the financial spotlight on Bermuda and we are keen to capitalize on this,” noted Mr Adderley.

BIBA is an organization of resident companies in the accounting, legal, banking, management, e-business, IT and international trust and fund services industries. It works with the private sector and the Bermuda Government to develop and promote the island to international business.
