Australian Deputy Prime Minister and Treasurer Wayne Swan has invited individuals, businesses and community groups to submit ideas for the upcoming 2012-13 Budget.
According to Swan, Australia’s budget has managed to remain on track for surplus in 2012-13, despite the global economic crisis, due to its disciplined approach to spending.
Last year, the Treasurer received over 300 submissions from the public which, according to Swan, “provided an insight into the challenges faced across our nation and opportunities to improve policy outcomes for all Australians”.
The deadline for submissions is the 27th of January 2012.
