Hedge Funds of Australia (HFA) has just launched three absolute return investment products offering returns to Australian investors of between 8 per cent and 25 per cent per annum on minimum investments of $A5,000 ($US2,607.5). The new funds are the HFA Super Cash Fund, the HFA Diversified Investments Fund and the HFA Strategic Investments Fund, and together the three cater for the needs of all types of investors.
Spencer Young, managing director of HFA, commented: 'These products mean that Australian investors now have a real choice of tested investment options that provide significantly higher returns than equity and bond markets or alternately, equity like returns with significantly lower risk. This will become particularly important as the widely expected downturn in the market gathers momentum. International experience tells us that once equity markets get the staggers, investors move into Absolute Return Funds to maintain/enhance levels of returns.'
The HFA Super Cash Fund targets an absolute return of 8 to 10 per cent, the HFA Diversified Investments Fund targets 12 to 15 per cent and the HFA Strategic Investments Fund targets 20 to 25 per cent. Each fund has been researched in the US and approved by Australina investment authority van Eyk Research.
Mr Young added: 'There is a ground swell of change occurring within the Australian investment community that is providing investors with a range of new and exciting investment opportunities. It's the start of a new investment era in this country.'
