Australia Institute Pushing For CGT Reform

Unbalanced Capital Gains Tax (CGT) concessions which favour the wealthy should be scrapped, according to Australian think tank, the Australia Institute.

In its submission to the Henry review, the Institute has outlined proposals to scrap CGT exemptions, which it believes could raise government revenues by AUD40bn (USD28bn) and reduce personal tax burdens by AUD4,000 (USD2,823) per person.
