Twenty two of Hong Kong's leading international and national banks have joined forces to provide their financial products and services online via a new Internet portal site - Bankingstreet.net. The website is the idea of e-business and technology infrastructure company SUNeVision, a subsidiary of property dealer Sun Hung Kai Properties.

Users of Bankingstreet.net will have access to information regarding the banks including the latest news and issues concerning both individual and corporate finance when the website is up and running in April this year. When operational the website will offer services such as mortgage advice, securities trading, loans, credit and deposit rates.

Among the banks taking part in the new website are ABN Amro Bank, Asia Commercial Bank, Bank of America (Asia), Bank of China, Bank of East Asia, Chase Manhattan, CitiBank, International Bank of Asia, Shanghai Commercial Bank, Wing Hang Bank and Wing Lung Bank.

As an IT infrastructure company, SUNeVision is a leader in Internet services and content specialising in creating and supporting portals. The company describes its latest venture as an 'innovative banking allliance portal [creating] a virtual one-stop shop for consumers' banking needs.'
