Argentina's May tax collection has hit a record high, registering ARS27.29bn (USD7.28bn) according to the country's President, Cristina Fernandez.
Announcing the news on June 1, the President said this figure represents a 12.5% increase on the previous year.
Much of the increase has been attributed to a rise in social-security contributions as a result of the nationalization of the pension-fund system in November 2008, and higher reported VAT revenues due to delayed refunds.
The figures are still awaiting official confirmation by the country's tax agency, AFIP.
