Argentina Imposes New Luxury Vehicle Tax

The Argentine Government has imposed new taxes of up to 10% on purchases of luxury vehicles.

Under the new tax regime, a tax rate of 5% is levied on the purchase of vehicles exceeding USD150,000, and a tax of 10% placed on the purchase of luxury vehicles intended for the transport of passengers, excluding buses and ambulances.

Motorcycles are also covered in the decree, and will have to pay a tax of 10%, which will apply to sales exceeding USD8,600.
