Arab Wide Web (AWW), the Dubai-based Internet portal and InfoCom Corporation, Texas (USA) an Internet services company, have formed a strategic alliance to provide innovative hosting and e-commerce solutions in the Middle East region.

AWW offers a wide array of services including Middle East news, email, topical information channels, a regional website directory, opinion polls and a calendar of regional events. InfoCom provides a wide variety of web hosting solutions including virtual, dedicated, co-located, clustered and custom web hosting. In addition, the company also provides international e-commerce solutions that enable customers worldwide to accept and process credit card orders online in real-time in a fully secure environment.

The alliance will enable AWW to expand its list of services to include website hosting and e-commerce solutions, and the company has shifted its web portal (www.arabwideweb.com) to InfoCom's data center in Dallas, Texas.

Commenting on the alliance with InfoCom, Mirna Sleem, marketing manager for AWW said: 'The wide variety of web solutions including e-commerce solutions and interactive solutions and its long track record in the business made InfoCom our natural choice. In the past we have worked with them on other projects and found their level of competency and service unmatched.'

InfoCom hopes to utilise the leverage on Arab Wide Web's position in the Middle East market to offer a comprehensive range of web hosting solutions to companies in the region. 'We are excited about our strategic alliance with Arab Wide Web. The portal is growing in popularity and their position in the market fits perfectly with where we have focused our efforts for the past fifteen years,' said John Janney, Internet Operations Manager for InfoCom Corporation.
