It emerged recently that Apple Computer has been granted a patent for the interface of its iTunes music software.
According to reports, the patent was granted by the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on May 4, in addition to patents protecting several other features of products sold by the company.
Since losing a copyright infringement battle with Microsoft in the early days of Windows over the software giant's alleged use of the Mac operating system's 'look and feel', Apple has relied heavily on the patenting of software and hardware elements of its technology to protect its intellectual property.
