According to reports in the regional media, the Anguilla Financial Services Commission has proposed some legislative changes under the Companies Act, one of which will require all firms recognised as licensed service providers to have a registered agent.
Proposed changes to the Limited Liability Companies Act seek to allow any foreign firm (as opposed to just foreign LLCs) to continue into an Anguillian LLC. In addition, the Commission is also planning to consider the potential benefits of a new Limited Liability Partnership Act.
The AFSC has also announced its intention to review the Trusts Act, which has remained unchanged since its enactment in 1994, to take into account developments in the trust area over the last decade.
