It has emerged that the Deputy Director of the newly created Anguilla Financial Services Commission, Carlyle K. Rogers, and the government's Registrar of Companies, Lanston Connor will be attending a seminar for the international trust industry being hosted by Euromoney Seminars in London this week.
Mr Rogers will on Wednesday give a presentation entitled 'Regional Focus - A critical analysis of the Anguillian trust market', which will focus on trust legislation in Anguilla, the different types of trust licence and statutory trusts that are available, Anguilla's position within the international environment, and the effect of regulatory change on Anguilla and other offshore finance centres.
He will also speak about the future of the trust industry in Anguilla, examining the need to offer increasingly specialised services to international clients.
The Anguilla Financial Services Commission commenced operations on February 2nd, replacing the Financial Services Department of the Anguillian Ministry of Finance. Its creation was recommended by a KPMG review team, as well as the International Monetary Fund, and came about as a result of the enactment of the Financial Services Commission Act, passed in November of last year.
