Alderney's Wilsenach Tops Poll Again

Alderney Gambling Control Commission Chief Executive, Andre Wilsenach, was declared this year’s Regulator of the Year at the World Online Gambling Law Report Awards 2008, which took place at Tylney Hall in Hampshire earlier this month.

“Andre has played – and continues to play- a significant role in the development of regulation in this complex global online industry,” explained Lindsey Grieg, World Online Gambling Law Report, managing editor, adding:

“He has had to develop a regulatory framework in an area where there are no established precedents and where internet business models are constantly developing.”

Mr Wilsenach has played a significant role not just in developing Alderney’s regulatory framework but in the continuing challenge to develop an international regulatory framework through his work with the International Association of Gaming Regulators and Attorneys.

States of Alderney Head of E-Commerce Development, Robin Le Prevost said in response:

"This reflects particularly well on the invaluable work Andre has done but also his team of staff and the Commissioners, the Island of Alderney and the wider Bailiwick.
