The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) is developing a new product for non-profit organizations to support their governance approach to tax and superannuation affairs.
The ATO says non-profit organizations need to manage risks to their performance and reputation, so it is important for them to have a robust governance and tax risk management framework, including processes to review continued entitlement to tax concessions.
As part of the product development process, it is inviting non-profit organizations to register their interest in participating in the design and testing of the new product. The number of participants will be limited and they will be selected from across the non-profit sector to ensure the feedback and views the ATO receive are representative of the tasks performed by volunteers and paid employees in large and small organizations.
The design sessions will be held in February–March 2011, and those interested in participating are asked to contact the ATO before Wednesday, 22 December.
