United Nations Launches 'Offshore Initiative' Against Laundering
At a meeting in Vienna the United Nations Global Program Against Money Laundering launched a 5-year program to impose acceptable standards on offshore centres. The agency is preparing a 'white list' of IOFCs which have adequate safeguards, and hope that this approach will be more effective than the OECDs more heavy-handed rhetoric. .
