The purpose of this list, according to the government body, is to ensure that terrorists and economic criminals are denied entry to the country, as part of the international fight against money laundering and terrorist activity. In order to compile the list, the State Department will be consulting with the Justice Department, the Treasury, and the Central Intelligence agency. .
