Jason Gorringe, Tax-news.com, London

24 November 2000

Early next year US trading platform provider TFSBlackwood will open its first European day trading centre in London. Centres in other worldwide locations will be opened in due course. The centres will employ the 'Direct Access Trading' technology used in TFSB's US trading centres, which allow daytraders to take advantage of short-term, momentum-based gyrations in NASDAQ stock prices.

TFS Blackwood LLC (TFSB) is a joint venture between Trading Financial Services and Blackwood Trading LLC.

Tradition Financial Services (TFS) is a leader in the interdealer broking of many derivative and physical products, with trading rooms all over the world brokering foreign exchange, gold, silver and other metals, equity options, oil, natural gas, electricity and other energy products. TFS is part of Viel et Cie and presently employs over 250 people worldwide.

Blackwood Trading LLC – located in the heart of New York’s Wall Street financial district - was created in 1998, and quickly gained a reputation as a technology leader in the field of professional momentum trading through its proprietary trading and execution system “AXcess-Pro”.

Announcing the opening of the London centre, TFSB says: 'Until now, only those traders in the U.S. have been able to benefit from the multitude of advantages presented by Direct Access Trading, with such advanced technology in a large-scale dynamic dealing room environment. Direct Access Trading, using some of the most powerful trading technology available in the world today, puts the individual on the same playing field as the institutional market maker in the world’s most dynamic trading arena – the NASDAQ. AXcess Pro has an in-built array of analytical tools that will draw the trader's attention to movements in stock prices and provides some of the fastest execution available so that the trader can get in and out of the stock in the most efficient manner.'

TFSB will be holding free Momentum Trading Seminars in London on Friday, December 1st and Saturday, December 2nd. At these seminars, highly-experienced traders from New York will introduce Blackwood’s “Axcess-Pro” trading and execution system for the very first time outside of the U.S.
