Swiss Life/Rentenanstalt has announced that in January 2001 it is to launch the first integrated financial portal in Switzerland. Redsafe.com will provide clients with a comprehensive range of online financial services, says the company, which hopes to expand the service to other European countries in 2001. The project is a major element of Swiss Life/Rentenanstalt's e-strategy, which commenced at the beginning of this year with the establishment of a new E-Business Division.

Redsafe.com will comprise a range of solutions for asset gathering and wealth management on a single platform. As well as banking products and securities trading on various stock exchanges, Redsafe.com will offer fund and insurance products from the major providers, including the Swiss Life/Rentenanstalt Group.

According to Swiss Life/Rentenanstalt, Redsafe.com 'offers information and general services creating high market transparency for clients and facilitating decisions with regard to purchasing and selling. Clients are provided with a complete overview of their current wealth situation. Moreover, all investors have the possibility of drawing up their individual risk profile with specific investment recommendations and to carry out transactions in realtime. The new financial portal guarantees security and confidentiality of all transaction and client data.'

Redsafe Bank, a subsidiary of the Swiss Life/Rentenanstalt Group, has its head office in Zurich and employs approximately 40 individuals. In addition to the launch of Redsafe.com, an independent company will be established in the UK before the end of the year which will provide clients with a service platform for expatriates under the name of "Propeller". It will offer solutions such as tax consultation, visa matters, work permit inquiries and financial services. These services will be provided by a large number of partners. It is planned to quickly expand into Switzerland and other countries.
