Switzerland Appoints Consul To The Channel Islands
by Jason Gorringe, Tax-News.com, London

12 September 2002

It emerged this week that, in the light of the number of Swiss nationals now living and working in the Channel Islands, Switzerland has decided to establish a consulate in Guernsey, which will be formally inaugurated by the government later this year.

Reports in the local media have revealed that the new consul will be Swiss national, Albert Good, currently the CEO of Credit Suisse in Guernsey, and a resident of the Island for some eight years.

Speaking to the Jersey Evening Post this week about his appointment, Mr Good stressed that although his main priority is to provide assistance to the 260 Swiss nationals and 25 Swiss banks currently located in the Channel Islands, he will also be looking to strengthen cultural, political, tourism, and lifestyle links between the two regions.
