Russian yacht company Timmerman Yachts officially announced last Wednesday
that on April 25th, it launched the first Timmerman 40 from its shipyard,
in the presence of the owner’s representatives and head of the consortium.
The custom-made Timmerman 40 incorporated fifty changes made to fit the customer’s
requirements.
The 400 tonne vessel is painted light grey with whitened teak capping rails.
Interior and deck layout design was by the Dutch studio of Rene van der Velden,
with decor by Cannes Larvor Interior Designers.
The interior is finished in the style of modern classics with teak and differently
textured leather coming together. There is antique furniture together with items
from modern collections, such as lamps by Provasi and bathroom fixtures and
accessories from Serdanelli and a unique entertainment system by LINN-Crestron-Kaleidescape.
Interior fabrication was by Austrian company SINNEX, which has created custom
made interiors for yachts such as the Pelorus and the Maltese Falcon.
The yacht is able to cross the Atlantic at a speed of 12.5 knots and has an
operating range of 4000 nautical miles. The four-deck vessel can accommodate
10-12 persons in 5 cabins and has 4 cabins for 8 crew members.
The Timmerman 40 was built under the supervision of Det Norske Veritas (DNV)
and conforms to MCA requirements. The yacht, which is to be flagged in the Cayman
Islands, will be presented at the Monaco Yacht Show 2008.
