by Philip Morton, Investors Offshore.com

29 May 2008

Three non-executive directors were elected to the Board of Jersey Finance by its Members at its recent annual general meeting last week.

The three are: Hans Baerlocher, Managing Director, UBS, Julie Coward, Managing Director, Basel Group and Jonathan White, Chairman of Ogier.

Under the organisation’s rules, non-executive directors of Jersey Finance sit on the Board for a three year period and then must seek re-election should they wish to continue.

This year, Jonathan White and Clive Barton, Managing Director, Moore Stephens Offshore Group, sought re-election, whilst Robert Christensen, Managing Director of Volaw Trust & Corporate Services, stood down and did not seek re-election.

Joining the directors seeking re-election in the ballot were three other senior finance professionals who were seeking election on to the Board for the first time.

They were Hans Baerlocher, Julie Coward and Mark Lewis, Group Head of the Corporate & Commercial Practise Group, Appleby.

Pierre Horsfall, chairman of Jersey Finance, welcomed the three successfully elected representatives onto the Board, and in particular thanked Clive Barton and Robert Christensen for their valuable contributions, stating that:

"I am always surprised by the willingness of so many talented senior professionals to give so much of their time in advising and supporting the work of Jersey Finance and, whilst welcoming the three who were successfully elected and looking forward to working with them, I would also like to offer my thanks to Clive and Robert for the direction they have provided into the activities of Jersey Finance during their three years on the Board."

In addition to Pierre Horsfall and those elected last week, the remaining members of the Board are vice chairman, John Henwood; director, Geoffrey Grime; two representatives from the States of Jersey, Martin de Forest Brown, Director of International Finance and Geoffrey Fisher, the Constable of St. Lawrence and two executive directors, Rob Kirkby, Technical Director of Jersey Finance and Geoffrey Cook, its Chief Executive.
