Malta Stock Exchange Accepted As Member Of ANNA
by Robert Lee, Tax-News.com, London

29 November 2006

The Malta Stock Exchange has announced that it has been accepted as a full member of the Association of National Numbering Agencies, or ANNA.

Membership of the Association was bestowed on the Maltese Stock Exchange at a ceremony at the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange earlier this month.

The objective of ANNA is to make available to its members and the securities industry as a whole, a standardised and uniform structure for use in any application for the trading and administration of securities in the international securities industry.

The Malta Stock Exchange’s relationship with ANNA originally started in 1992, when the ISO Standard for International Securities Identification Number (ISIN) was adopted for all securities listed and traded on the Malta Stock Exchange.

In June 2003 the Malta Stock Exchange was officially recognised as the National Numbering Agency for Malta, and subsequently in April 2005 the Malta Stock Exchange was accepted as an ANNA Partner.
