Mr Zammit Tabona and Mr Camilleri gave short presentations about the mission and achievements of their respective organizations and the quest to promote Malta and attract more Foreign Direct Investment to the country.

The speakers replied to questions and answered comments from the peers and MPs who attended the meeting.

They were followed by Mark Jeffrey, De La Rue Director of Marketing who traced the history of his company’s long association with Malta and its success following De La Rue’s decision to invest and expand operations on the island.

The company is in the process of building a new production line for the manufacture of biometric passports.

The meeting was also attended by Malta Deputy High Commissioner Bernard Hamilton, Mr Clive Brockdorf from Malta Enterprise, and Sir Brooke Boothby, Honorary Consul for Malta in Wales.

The Malta APPG is jointly chaired by Michael Clapham MP (Labour) and Ms Jacqui Lait MP (Conservative) while Baroness Lyn Golding (Labour) and Lord Kilclooney (Ulster Unionist) are respectively Secretary and Treasurer. The Malta APPG is open to members of both Houses of the UK Parliament.
