The Malaysian online news service, The Star,
has reported that the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) is set to become one
'of the first in the world' to offer a secure corporate electronic tax
filing service.
The government is using a digital signature
solution entitled iVEST (Virtual Environment for Secure Transactions)
from Mimos Bhd to enable corporate taxpayers to file their tax returns
as well as making payments online.
Mimos chairman Datuk Dr Ariff Araf told The
Star: 'We applaud the IRB for being one of the first in the world to offer
secure e-tax filing service to companies. Together with iVEST technology,
it is a step towards making e-public services secure and easy to deploy
over the Internet.'
