Liechtenstein To Reform Foundation Law
The Liechtenstein government has launched a consultation on planned revisions
to the Liechtenstein foundation law. Liechtenstein has been planning a revision of the foundation law since 2001,
and the government made a commitment to this in its Program for 2005 –
2009, which explicitly lists foundation law reform as one of the focuses of
a modern justice policy. The government said that the consultation report on the amendment of articles 552
to 570 of the Law on Persons and Companies (PGR) it recently adopted establishes a modern foundation law that meets national and international demands
for a homogenous and largely self-contained legal framework. The goal of the total revision of foundation law is to harmonize foundation
law with the relevant applicable jurisprudence and, by means of a systematic
restructuring and differentiated design of key aspects of the content of foundation
law, to achieve more legal certainty for those applying the law, while strengthening
the Liechtenstein foundation in general. The consultation period ends on 8 June 2007. .
