Jersey Finance Limited has announced an extensive programme of promotional
activities in the coming months that will see some of the island's finance industry
representatives addressing investors from Europe, the Middle East and Hong Kong.
Next month, Jersey Finance and the Guernsey Promotional Agency have been invited
to speak at the Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Geneva, where Chief Executive of
Jersey Finance Phil Austin will be joined by John Bridle, his Guernsey counterpart, and Albert Good, the Swiss Honorary Consul for the Channel Islands.
Also on the agenda in September is a visit to Luxembourg, where Jersey Finance
has been invited to address a delegation of legal professionals. This event
is due to be hosted by JF chairman Pierre Horsfall, and Mr Austin will also
be speaking to the conference.
Phil Austin will be a guest speaker at the Nordic Forum in Stockholm
at the end of September, which is being jointly organised by finance industry
publications International Investment and Hedge Fund Review, and will be attended
by investors from all over Northern Europe.
Taking the cause of the Jersey finance industry further afield in October, President of the Policy & Resources Committee Senator Frank Walker will be
leading a delegation of Jersey Finance Ltd officials to a series of formal and
informal meetings in the Gulf region.
Meanwhile, on November 20th, Mr Austin will be amongst a panel of speakers
at a major financial services forum in Hong Kong, where a Jersey reception for
senior legal and finance professionals will also take place.
"In order to secure and maintain a positive profile for the reputation of the
Jersey finance industry globally, it is important that we visit the leading
financial centres from where our business is most likely to originate,"
Mr Austin observed recently, adding that: "The value of visits arranged so far to such
places as the City of London and the United Arab Emirates has been acknowledged
by our members and we believe that it is now time to expand our promotional
programme."
