India's Central Board Of Direct Taxes Appoints New Chairman By by Mary Swire, Tax-News.com, Hong Kong 04 July 2008 It has been announced this week that Narendra Bahadur Singh has taken over as Chairman of India's Central Board of Direct Taxes with effect from 30th June, 2008. An officer of the 1971 batch of the Indian Revenue Service, he was earlier Member (Personnel & Vigilance) in the CBDT. He has served in various capacities in the Income Tax department, as Chief Commissioner in Mumbai and Baroda, and as Commissioner in Mumbai and Kolhapur. He belongs to the Jaunpur district in Uttar Pradesh. .
