A delegation from the Isle of Man led by Tim Craine, the Island’s Director
of E-Commerce, will make a presentation to leading figures from Ireland's e-business
community on 25th September at the Berkeley Court Hotel in Dublin.
The presentation, entitled ‘The Isle of Man as an Offshore Centre for
E-business’, aims to generate inward investment to the Isle of Man, and
will introduce the attractions of the Isle of Man as an e-commerce centre. Attendees
will include e-businesses owners and their advisers, financiers, venture capitalists
and software companies.
Tim Craine has already visited Dublin twice this year to hold a series of one-to-one
briefings with members of Ireland’s e-business community. The success of
these earlier visits has prompted the E-Commerce Division to stage a full presentation.
Tim Craine said:
“My earlier visits to Dublin proved an excellent way for me to gather
intelligence about what Ireland’s e-business community is looking for from
an e-commerce centre. They also demonstrated that there is an appetite for the
Isle of Man’s offering.
“With this in mind we have decided to re-visit Dublin, this time staging
a full presentation. At present, the business relationships that I have established
with companies based there are informal as we explore ways in which we can work
together. I am confident that, in time, these relationships will be formalised
as companies start to take advantage of the Isle of Man’s legal, technological
and fiscal infrastructure.”
Tim Craine will be accompanied by Chris Hall, Managing Director of Manx Telecom;
Paul Dougherty, Principal at Dougherty Associates; and Arthur Lancaster, a Tax
Director of Ernst & Young Trust Co Ltd.
