The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland (ICAI) is to host a conference open to its 16,400 members, to facilitate dialogue between statutory regulators and chartered accountants working in business and in practice.

Speakers at the event will include: ICAI President, Vincent Sheridan; Companies Registrar, Paul Farrell; Revenue Chairman, Frank Daly; Director for Corporate Enforcement, Paul Appleby; Financial Regulator, Patrick Neary; Registrar of Credit Unions, Brendan Logue; IAASA Chief Executive, Ian Drennan and Garda Bureau of Fraud Investigation, Eugene Gallagher.

The event will conclude with an address from John McGuinness TD, the new Minister for Trade and Commerce with responsibility for accounting and company law issues.

Commenting on the forthcoming conference, ICAI Chief Executive, Pat Costello observed that: "The working lives of chartered accountants and those that regulate their work are intertwined. The purpose of this Conference is to allow all parties, the regulated and the regulators, share their perspectives on how the regulatory environment impacts on the businesses served by our members."
