Yesterday, Tax-news.com reported that Standard Chartered Bank in Hong Kong had launched an Internet banking and investment platform in Hong Kong called "Me Standard Chartered Online." In a separate move, the bank has brought in InvestPro, an all-in-one investment solution for securities, unit trusts and currency trading.

Peter Wong, Standard Chartered Bank's Chief Executive and General Manager in Hong Kong, said: 'We aim at providing the most user-friendly services to help customers capture fleeting investment opportunities in the market. InvestPro is a one-stop and hassle-free investment solution that helps customers maximise their profits in the constantly changing market conditions.....In today's competitive environment, relationship is our biggest asset. By offering a generous rewards programme and a tailored portfolio service, we are confident more customers will bank with us to make their investment decisions.'

A unique feature of InvestPro is the Investment Rewards Plan - an ongoing investment rewards programme under which customers are entitled to 1 investment point for every HK$10,000 trading transaction in any of the three investment services. By accumulating investment points, customers can enjoy perks including trading fee discounts and annual fee waiver for Excel and Easy banking. Customers who sign up the InvestPro account before 29 December 2000 are entitled to a welcome gift and extra investment points. They will also receive double investment points for trading transactions completed before 29 December 2000.

Another aspect of InvestPro is the Personalised Portfolio Update service, by which customers are updated daily on their stock and currency portfolio value through automatic mobile short messaging.
