04 July 2008

Honk Kong's Inland Revenue Department achieved most of its performance pledges in 2007-08 and exceeded its targets in some areas, it was announced this week.

At the 14th Outstanding Customer Service Awards presentation ceremony on Thursday, 34 individual and group winners selected by taxpayers were presented prizes.

Commissioner of Inland Revenue Alice Lau said she was pleased with the results, thanking taxpayers for their support and co-operation, and staff for their effective service.

The department set a 95% success-rate target for issuing eTAX access codes within two working days after receiving applications in April.

Registered eTAX users can conduct their annual dealings online at all hours, including tax return receipt and filing, and tax bill receipt and payment.
