HKEx Seeks New Head Of Listing
by Mary Swire, for LawAndTax-News.com, Hong Kong

29 August 2008

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing announced on Wednesday that its head of listing, Richard Williams, will not renew his contract for another three years.

However, Mr Williams will extend his currrent contract, which expires at the end of September, until February. He will then return to the UK.

HKEx will search for a replacement, the Exchange announced.

In a statement, HKEx revealed that:

"Mr Williams' contributions to HKEx and the development of the primary market in Hong Kong include strengthening of the listing division's internal operations, the transition to the electronic disclosure regime, enhancements to the regulation of sponsors and promotion of higher corporate governance standards to enhance overall market quality."
