A delegation of fund specialists from Guernsey attended the GAIM Invest & Fund of Funds Conference in Geneva at the end of November, which was sponsored by GuernseyFinance.

The Global Alternative Investment Management event focused on "cutting edge thinking and research in fund investment and management strategy".

Robin Fuller, director of GuernseyFinance, commented: "This event was extremely valuable from Guernsey’s point of view. Some of the biggest global fund of funds management companies were in attendance."

"The GAIM Forums have a reputation for quality programmes and strong speakers and they attract senior representatives from the hedge fund community world-wide," he added.

On behalf of GuernseyFinance, joint managing directors of Dawnay Day Milroy Limited, Robert Milroy and Paul Meader, delivered a presentation to delegates and chaired a conference session.

"Both the presentation and conference session were very well attended and had the right sort of audience from a Guernsey perspective. They concentrated on administration, custody, compliance and corporate governance issues, all of which are areas where Guernsey genuinely stands out from the pack, and where the island’s competitive edge could clearly be seen," Mr Fuller concluded.
