23 July 2008

FirstCaribbean International Bank continues to be recognised among industry analysts for its leading role in the financial services industry having scooped the award for Best Bank in Barbados in the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2008 by Euromoney Magazine.

This year's award follows similar achievements last year in the Bank's operations in The Bahamas and Jamaica.

Now in its 16th year, the Euromoney Awards for Excellence continue to be among the most respected awards in the industry.

Editor of Euromoney Magazine, Clive Norwood congratulated the bank on its achievements over the past twelve months.

Managing Director Oliver Jordan expressed pride in the bank's accomplishments and has dedicated the award solely to the efforts and commitment of all staff.

"That we continue to be acknowledged, particularly in these times of economic challenge, is a clear vote of confidence in our operations," he noted.

Euromoney combines quantitative data with informed and important subjective judgments to honour those institutions which bring the highest levels of service, innovation and expertise to their customers. The awards will be published in the July issue of Euromoney Magazine.

The awards were officially presented at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence Dinner 2008 on July 10th at the Brewery in London. The ceremony gathered together key players in the financial markets to celebrate the achievements within the global financial community in the past 12 months.
