Cyprus Releases Foreign Trade Statistics For April 2008

The Statistical Service of Cyprus has announced this week that it has published
the monthly report “Intra-Extra EU Trade Statistics (Summarised Data)”
for April 2008.
According to the report, the main developments in Cyprus foreign trade were:
- Total imports/arrivals (covering total imports from third countries and
arrivals from other Member States) in January-April 2008 amounted to EUR2.286,3m
as compared to EUR1.908,9m in January-April 2007. Total exports/dispatches
(covering total exports to third countries and dispatches to other Member
States) in January-April 2008 were EUR357,1m compared to EUR369,2m in January-April
2007. The trade deficit was EUR1.929,2m in January-April 2008 compared to
EUR1.539,7m in January-April 2007.
- During April 2008 total imports/arrivals (covering total imports from third
countries and arrivals from other Member States) valued at EUR595,6m.
- Total exports/dispatches (covering total exports to third countries and
dispatches to other Member States), including stores and provisions, in April
2008 amounted to EUR93,5m exports/dispatches of domestically produced goods,
including stores and provisions, were EUR48,3m whilst exports/dispatches of
foreign goods, including stores and provisions, were EUR45,2m.
The monthly report “Intra-Extra E.U Trade Statistics (Summarised Data)”
for April 2008 is available from the Printing Office of the Republic of Cyprus
in Nicosia at the price of EUR3,00/GBP1,76.
