BVI Residents Fear British Pressure on Offshore
BVI banking services executive John Cline accused the British Government of having a 'hidden agenda' to steal back business (and tax!) that had migrated to the BVI and other dependent territories. However that may be, there is nothing hidden about the efforts of the British Government to force the dependent territories to improve their anti-criminal legislation, and it is perhaps equally likely that the UK is simply trying to be helpful in pulling the territories up to a level at which they can look the OECD in the eyes. .
